Our Historic Barn

Our Historic Barn

Our barn was constructed in 1879 by S.A. Crisp making it one of the oldest agricultural buildings if not one of the oldest wooden structure in King County. It has had many lives and uses. It was originally a dairy barn for the homesteading Paumel family. It was constructed and built from hand shaped timbers created from trees harvested off the valley floor. It was used as a general purpose farm building by the Metzler family as they built and operated Green River Blueberry Farm, storing blueberry equipment, a hen house and a place to milk the family cows. In the 1980’s it served as a temporary fire station for King County District 46 backup fire truck. Most recently it was and is a cushy home to our American Saddlebred horses and a corner of it is our farm store.

It has been and still is a Landmark along historic corridor Green Valley Road and the Upper Green River Valley!
